I Am B.E.A.U.T.Y. Boot Camp

So on Sunday afternoon I stopped by the OV Salon in Baldwin N.Y. to help out the Multi-talented Akilah C. Thompson,

founder of Generations Inspired Inc. she has partnered with 2 other talented women Latoya Morgan of Your Hidden Treasure Inc. she is a certified Life Coach and Mel Peace the Project Manager at the Omnia Vanitas Salon who sponsors the space. So when she told me about I am Beauty Boot Camp I initially prejudged in my mind that it would be just another group focusing on the outward appearance ( nothing to see here) , BOY ! was i ever wrong. What I experienced was something I wish was going on when I was 14-18 years old (the targeted ages).

The workshops include : Personal Branding, Vision Boards, Career Awareness Panel, Beauty & Hygiene, Entrepreneurship, Health & Fitness and quite a few more subjects. On my visit the career panel happened to be going on, I met there two photographers, an attorney, 2 physicians and a fashion designer.

I also saw 2 panels one on mentoring and one on networking, then I stepped out for the "Girl Talk" segment upon returning the conclusion was a short Zumba class.

I think that this boot camp is for any young lady who wants to have an edge up on life, things are being taught that you may not otherwise be introduce until college age. All of this for a pair of  a good pair of sneakers. You can check a short video I threw together
