Daily News Golden Gloves - Hempstead NY

I don't know too much about boxing but last night I found myself at The Golden Gloves held a couple of blocks from my home in Hempstead at Kennedy Park. For the most part I was on my way home from a Hempstead Village  Board Meeting which proved uneventful I guess the real fight that night was at the park. It was 9:30pm when I walked through the door and the crowd about 200 people were yelling and screaming as if Mike Tyson was back in the ring . There was this young man from Freeport fighting who i later found out was his training partner one from Freeport and one from Hempstead , my two favorite villages. On this night Freeport proved victorious, Day VS Beckford , I snapped a few pictures shoot a little footage and went home to get a more suitable lens. there were 2 matches remaining when I returned one was so fast all i got was few shots no footage and the last fight Freeport again was victorious I did get the knockout. Let me finally mention that the trainer for the Freeport fighters is Joe Higgins, my classmate from Freeport High School he's the  Boxing Director at the Freeport PAL .Watch the footage here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjSgokWW6pE
